Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the rental and use of secure cycle parking spaces provided by Grease Monkey (Scotland) Ltd, herewith known as Grease Monkey. By subscribing to this service, you agree to comply with these terms in full.
2. Subscription Fee
- The monthly subscription is payable via Stripe on your account at www.veloboxes.cc.
- Your membership will automatically renew, subject to compliance with this agreement.
- It is your responsibility to ensure timely payment of your subscription. If payment fails, you must make payment within 1 week, or your subscription will be cancelled, and your bike removed.
3. Key Provision and Security
- One key will be provided upon approval of your application.
- A deposit is required for the key.
- Keys must not be copied or loaned to others. Unauthorised use will result in revocation of access, and locks may be changed for security.
- Lost keys can be replaced for a £25 fee.
- At the end of your rental period, keys must be returned to Grease Monkey, 5 Napier Square, Livingston, EH54 5DG. Failure to return the key within 5 working days results in forfeiture of your deposit.
4. Use of Cycle Space
- You are entitled to one space per person as per your allocated space.
- The designated space must only be used for standard bicycles (not electric scooters, motorcycles, or tricycles).
- Only the assigned space should be used. Unauthorised use of another space may result in bike removal.
- All bikes must be secured inside the hangar using a robust lock.
- No personal effects (baskets, gadgets, etc.) should be left in the cycle hangar.
- Misuse or unauthorised storage (e.g., additional bicycles, non-bike items) will result in removal of items without notice.
5. Liability and Security
- Your bicycle is stored at your own risk. Grease Monkey is not responsible for theft, damage, or loss.
- We strongly recommend insuring your bicycle with cycle-specific insurance.
- Users are responsible for ensuring the facility is locked correctly after use.
- If misuse is reported, Grease Monkey reserves the right to revoke access.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- You have 14 days from receiving your key to test whether your bike fits the storage unit. After this period, your subscription is active.
- To cancel, notify Grease Monkey via email or phone, providing 1 month’s notice.
- If cancelled, your key must be returned, and upon receipt, your deposit will be refunded.
- If you do not renew your membership at the end of the term and return your key, any remaining balance will be refunded.
- No partial refunds for early termination of membership.
7. Removal of Bicycles
- If a subscription expires without renewal, your bike will be considered abandoned after 14 days and removed.
- Any unclaimed removed bicycles will be held for 30 days. A £20 retrieval fee applies.
- After 30 days, unclaimed bikes become property of Grease Monkey and may be disposed of.
8. Maintenance and Access
- Grease Monkey reserves the right to open cycle hangars for maintenance, security checks, or operational reasons.
- We may change locks when necessary. New keys will be provided where applicable.
- Users must report any damage or maintenance issues as soon as possible via the contact details listed in clause 10.
9. Transfer of Management
- If Grease Monkey ceases to manage the cycle space, user information where available will be transferred to the new managing entity for continued service.
